I walk through this site, season after season, looking for signs of change; from the growth of vegetation to the traces left by animal activity.

Leaving aside prior research or documentation, my approach primarily focuses on careful observation. This intuitive practice has gradually led me to redefine my relationship to nature. Over time, an intimate bond has developed between me and this territory. The changes I observe in these places align with my own and are thus transposed into my work. Given the reoccurrence of this land in my practice, I am continuously challenged with renewing my gaze so as to remain open to what I encounter. Discoveries lead to others; new paths emerge as I continue my explorations. I become, in a way, the witness of the land and the guardian of the traces that I capture photographically.[/vc_column_text]

[vc_column_text css= » »]

“While he uses the landscape as an overarching theme, there is, in the subtleties of Rajotte’s work, an intimate and meditative dimension of the territory.
